Local Care Home Refurbishment

Our team has successfully completed a refurbishment project at a local care home, which involved several significant upgrades.

A new drainage system was installed, including a UPVC manhole, alongside the construction of cavity, block, and timber stud walls.

In accordance with the structural design, primed steel beams were incorporated, and the fire alarm system was re-cabled to accommodate new smoke detectors and sounders in various areas, including bedrooms and common spaces.

The intercall nurse call system was reinstated with updated pull cords, while the existing display unit was refitted and the controller relocated. The plumbing work featured the installation of a new wall-hung gas boiler and an unvented water cylinder, with low surface temperature radiators fitted in each room, all completed in compliance with Gas Safe regulations.

Additionally, a comprehensive sprinkler system was installed throughout the facility, and shower formers were added in select ensuites, connected to the drainage system.

The wet rooms were finished with Altro Pisces safety vinyl, while the corridor and bedrooms showcased Karndean Knight tile flooring.

The entire care home received a fresh coat of paint, enhancing the ceilings, walls, skirting, and door frames, with bedrooms adorned in vibrant colours. New architrave and skirting boards were installed, along with single fire-rated doors for bedrooms and bathrooms, and fire-rated doors for the kitchen, lounge, and utility areas, all equipped with pull handles, push plates, and kick plates.

Fire stopping measures were implemented as necessary to ensure safety compliance.
